This is just to get the discussion started, but perhaps these would be some good starting points:
- No Resigning: If you agree to play you agree to stay.
- No Living in the Past: Do not speak of any previous games of Diplomacy.
- No Crying Cheat or Rigged: Life is unfair--learn to deal with it.
- No Personal Attacks: It's just a game Focker. Only talk about players' moves.
- Say Something: If you feel any rules are being bent or broken, air your grievances immediately--don't bottle it up.
This list is open to additions--please make comments.
To step away from Diplomacy--life is too short to fall susceptible to negativity and push it on others. For competition and hobbyist gaming to be enjoyable, players should have a light heart and each would do well to re-read what they have typed before they hit the Submit button. Now go get your shinebox.

No crap talking on the blog either--it will just be embarrassing to our grand children when they Google it forty years from now.
the following is an example of good smack talk:

Here is an example of poor smack talk: "Mong you suck and you're never going to ammount to anything. If you betray me in this alliance I'll get your dumb ass fired from a job you can't hardly do"
*Mong, just kidding :-P
seriously... my first example was all game related
Is it good or bad smack to talk about {someone} and likeing anime?
No I'm not making fun of this post and I really do agree that smack talk should be 100% related to the current game, like so.
